Downloading! Downloading! Downloading! This is what most people will do nowadays. We can easily download songs, movie, entertainment shows, and software illegally via online. Why choose downloading? This is because downloading is the fastest and most convenient way to meet people demand. I believe that everyone of you who reading this post now have been downloading before or even now also still downloading. But, how many of us realize that illegally downloading is actually breaking the law? I think most of us do not really care about this.

This article shows that UK wants to stop the entire illegal download. UK proposed that illegal downloading cause them have million pounds of losses every year.

In my opinion, UK is actually doing so because UK wants to encourage people give respect to the copy right of each products. Besides that, it is also a best way to show appreciation to the workers efforts. By this way, there will be more and more good movies or products or songs in the markets. This can actually helps to boost up the economy of the country.

In Malaysia, government also try to catch illegal downloader. This is to save the economy of Malaysia and also to save the entertainment industry. But, most of us do not really bother about the punishment because we think that we are not that ‘lucky’. Government should emphasize more on copy right and education about it is also important. We should tell each other that illegal downloading is wrong and will get punishment once get caught.

Thus, to boost up the country economy, to save the entertainment industry, to appreciate the workers efforts, we should not download illegally. We must buy origin but not pirated products.

As the world keep on changing fast nowadays, more and more business can be deal online. In this century, there are many websites, for examples, Amazon, eBay and so on, enable the consumers to shopping online. Consumers can buy clothes, digital products, jewellery, songs and others via internet.

Now, even spectacles also can be purchased online. People nowadays mostly wear spectacles. So, in order to make we ourselves to have different spectacles with others, we can now create our own spectacles, we can choose the design we like and colour we prefer via online. If the consumers worry that they do not know the way to design, the websites will guide you step by step. Thus, consumers do not need to worry about this. There are several websites that provides DIY services, for examples, eyeglasses.com, www.framesdirect.com and others. You can see more in this blog.

In my opinion, I think that this spectacles e-business model can be work in Malaysia. I myself did wear spectacles. When I went to the shops to look around the glass I want, it took a long time for me to select the one which suit me the most. So, in my opinion, I think that DIY spectacles can be work. People nowadays like to be unique. They do not like to have the same things that others people have. Thus, some will buy branded and limited things to ensure that they are not common. Thus, by DIY glasses online, consumers can design the glasses they desire themselves.

Furthermore, the website also provide the prices whenever u choose for the items u want, so consumers do not need to worry about the spectacle will over their budget. Besides that, as internet is being more and more important, and the fuel prices keep on increasing, people nowadays are more unwilling to travel. They prefer to stay at home to rest rather than being crowded outside. Thus, online shopping is the most convenient shopping they can have.

E-Government in Malaysia : Its implementation so far and citizen's adoption strategies

As far as Malaysia is concerned, the implementation of E-government was initiated by the introduction of the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) in 1996. Under the e-government flagship, seven major projects identified which are Generic Office Environment (GEO), Electronic Procurement (eP) or better known as ePerolehan, Human Resource Information System (HRMIS), Project Monitoring System (PMS), Electronic Services Delivery (eServices), Electronic Labor Exchange (ELX), and E-Syariah. Besides these seven main projects under the e-government flagships, several government agencies has taken initiatives to introduce online services for the public projects, such as Public Services Portal (myGovernment), e-Tanah, e-Consent, e-Filing, e-Local Government (e-PBT), e-Kehakiman, Custom Information System (SMK), Pensions Online Workflow Environment (POWER), and Training Information System (e-SILA) which aims to increase the ease and efficiency of public service to people.
Consumers are encountered some problems with E-government application. New net users may find it difficult to use the sites because they don't know where to look for help or advice, or because the services themselves assume a lot of computer confidence. Users may be skeptical about how efficient, secure and reliable they can be. One of the worst things that can happen is a major breach of security in a key service. Many of the serious security problems discovered in today's network only become apparent when different systems start working together.
In order to encourage more citizens to adopt E-government application, the government should facilitate phone and face-to-face contact as the customer service aspect of E-government. In the long term however, E-government will mean that the public will increasingly interact with the government through a computer network. To this end the government has been introducing initiatives that will encourage people to go online, such as free computers in public libraries and publicly funded computer training for elderly. Such initiatives will certainly make E-government a more realistic prospect for everyone.

The Application of Prepaid cash card for consumer

In the modern economies, we used variety types of payment instruments such as currency, payment order, checks, credit cards, electronic cash cards, and also prepaid cash cards.

What is the prepaid Cash Card???

Prepaid Cash Cards, also known as prepaid debit cards, A Debit card is a plastic card which provides an alternative payment method to cash when making purchases. Its functionality is more similar to writing a cheque as the funds are withdrawn directly from either the bank account (often referred to as a cheque card), or from the remaining balance on the card. Debit cards are used widely for telephone and Internet purchases. For consumers, the difference between a "debit card" and a "credit card" is that the debit card immediately deducts the balance from a checking or savings account, whereas the credit card allows the consumer to spend money they might not actually have (but promise to pay later to the card-issuing bank).

The Application form of Debit Card will be like this:

Phishing : Examples and its Prevention Methods

Phishing is an email fraud in which the perpetrator sends out legitimate-looking email. Phishing attacks use both social engineering and technical subterfuge to steal customer's personal identity data and financial account credentials. Typically, fraudsters try to trick you into providing your user name and password so that they can gain access to an online account. Once they have the authority to access, they can use your personal information to commit identity theft, empty your bank accounts, charge your credit cards, read your email and lock you out of your online account by changing your password. Normally, the messages appear to come from well known and trustworthy websites.
According to Malaysian Computer Emergency Response Team (MyCERT) the number of forgery incidents especially phishing cases in Malaysia had enormously increased.

Tips on how to avoid the Internet scam known as phishing:
  • If you get an email or pop-up message that asks for personal or financial information, do not reply. And don't click on the link in the message, either. Legitimate companies don't ask for this information via email. If you are concerned about your account, contact the organization mentioned in the email using a telephone number you know to be genuine, or open a new Internet browser session and type in the company's correct Web address yourself. In any case, don't cut and paste the link from the message into your Internet browser — phishers can make links look like they go to one place, but that actually send you to a different site. Instead, call the company on the telephone, or log onto the website directly by typing in the Web address in your browser.
  • Avoid filling out forms in email messages that ask for personal financial information. You should only communicate information such as credit card numbers or account information via a secure website or the telephone.
  • Before submitting financial information through a Web site, look for the "lock" icon on the browser's status bar. It means your information is secure during transmission.
  • If you unknowingly supplied personal or financial information, contact your bank and credit card company immediately.
  • Area codes can mislead. Some scammers send emails that appear to be from a legitimate business and ask you to call a phone number to update your account or access a "refund." Because they use Voice over Internet Protocol technology, the area code you call does not reflect where the scammers really are. If you need to reach an organization you do business with, call the number on your financial statements or on the back of your credit card. And delete any emails that ask you to confirm or divulge your financial information.
  • Remember not all scam sites will try to show the "https://" and/or the security lock. Get in the habit of looking at the address line, too. Be aware of where you are going.
  • Use anti-virus and anti-spyware software, as well as a firewall, and update them all regularly. Ensure that your browser is up to date and security patches applied. Some phishing emails contain software that can harm your computer or track your activities on the Internet without your knowledge.
  • Regularly log into your online accounts. Don't leave it for as long as a month before you check each account.
  • Regularly check your bank, credit and debit card statements to ensure that all transactions are legitimate. If anything is suspicious or you don't recognize the transaction, contact your bank and all card issuers.

The Failure of E-Commerce

4The failure of E-commerce was starting in 1999. There was a large number of E-Commerce companies began to fail. Well-known B2C (Business-to-Consumer) failures include Webvan.com (1999-2001), Pets.com (1998-2000), eToys.com (1997-2001), Boo.com (1998-2000) and so on. Well-known B2B include Chemdex.com (1997-2001) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chemdex, Ventro.com, Verticalnet.com.
Those companies usually fail and not able to face the challenges in market via Internet are normally because of their unimpressive and non-persuaded marketing capacity as well as other weaknesses they either became bankrupt or failed to achieve success.

In June 2008, CNET hailed Webvan as one of the greatest dotcom disasters in history.[1]

Webvan was an online "credit and delivery" grocery business that went bankrupt in 2001. It was headquartered in Foster City, California, USA, near Silicon Valley. It delivered products to customers' homes within a 30-minute window of their choosing. At its peak, it offered service in ten U.S. markets: San Francisco Bay Area, Dallas, San Diego, Los Angeles, Chicago, Seattle, Portland, Atlanta, Sacramento, and Orange County. The company had originally hoped to expand to 26 cities.

After their acquisition of HomeGrocer a year ago.

Lots of their consumer can see the differences in the way the two companies did business. The HomeGrocer certainly had an uphill battle to survive, Webvan seemed set on driving the company out of business. There are several causes of Webvan Went Wrong, particularly in comparison with HomeGrocer, the Seattle-based service that got us turned on to Internet grocery shopping in the first place.

1. Too Much Money to Burn -- Significant investment is normally a good thing, but in this case the vast sums acted to Webvan's detriment, not to mention the detriment of the entire industry. Webvan used its money in two basic ways: to build up an expensive infrastructure and to expand rapidly across the country.

Webvan spent huge sums on high-tech warehouses that were designed to revolutionize distribution, but they turned out to be mostly a waste of money and a lot of unnecessary expense. Webvan would spend something like $35 million on a warehouse, whereas HomeGrocer spent only about $15 million for a much less automated warehouse.

2.Infinite Expansion Creates Infinite Dilution -- The grandiose expansion plans Webvan executed even in the face of the dot-com bubble bursting were problematic at best.

Most significantly, they put pressure on competing Internet grocers in those markets. In an established, profitable business, pressuring competitors in key markets makes sense, but in a situation where everyone is losing massive sums of money in attempts to gain market share, forcing head-to-head competition just makes it all the more likely that everyone will fail.

The Webvan's expansion plans also made it difficult for management to concentrate on the basic business of serving the customer. Therefore, there will having a lot complaints with Webvan. However, there had essentially no complaints with HomeGrocer, particularly in terms of customer service, where they always answered their email promptly and were great about providing refunds for the occasional mistake or damaged food. As Webvan took over, our exchanges with customer service gradually became

Merge and Die -- Acquiring HomeGrocer was also a mistake. Though it made sense on the surface, Webvan botched the acquisition almost entirely, failing to merge the organizations in some ways and overriding HomeGrocer's leaner approach in others.

In the early days of HomeGrocer, the drivers were excited by what they were doing, and that excitement encouraged customers to have faith in the then-unusual notion of buying groceries online. The difference in attitude after the acquisition was particularly shocking.

As the Conclusiuon: The failure of webvan.com was due to the inability to make high volume, low priced purchases. Webvan.com failed to meet customer requirements. It made bad management decisions like to raise $850 million and spend it on ads and campaigns. The last thing to kill webvan.com was to merge with Homegrocer.com.

The company's success might also due to the review feature of Amazon.com which has attracted at least 615million visitors annually by 2008 according to a Compete.com survey. The users can submit reviews to the webpage of the products. As part of their review, users must rate the product on a rating scale from one to five stars. Such rating scales will demonstrate the popularity and dependability of a product. Because it is an open forum, the users can benefit from a variety of perspectives.
Additionally, Amazon also created a feature that allowed the users to comment on the reviews in recent years. "Search Inside the Book" is a feature that allows customers to search for keywords in the full text of many books in the catalog. There are currently about 250,000 books in the program. In addition, Amazon has cooperated with about 130 publishers to allow users to perform these searches.
